Beeble AI launches browser-based relighting tool that requires no software installation and works with or without green screen footage.
The tool generates multiple passes including alpha maps, normal maps, and base color maps, providing professional-grade control similar to what's found in dedicated VFX software. Unlike last year's local application version (then called SwitchLight), the new web-based Beeble eliminates installation requirements completely, letting users upload footage directly to their browser.
Users can upload raw footage or pre-keyed image sequences in various formats including ProRes, MP4, PNG
The AI automatically analyzes footage to remove backgrounds and create lighting-independent passes
The interface allows for placement of multiple lights with control over color, intensity, and position
All processing happens in the browser with real-time playback during adjustments
When users want to composite subjects into new environments, Beeble automatically analyzes the lighting conditions of background plates and creates a 360° lighting setup that illuminates the subject appropriately. This solves one of the most common compositing problems: mismatched lighting that makes subjects look artificially pasted into scenes.
Green screen spill is automatically removed during the base color extraction process
The tool creates normal maps that calculate how lighting should physically interact with the subject
Roughness maps determine which areas will generate specular highlights from point lighting
Processed assets can be exported to professional 3D applications like Blender and Unreal
Most notably, Beeble enables a form of virtual production that doesn't require LED walls or specialized camera tracking equipment. The demonstration showed footage captured on an iPhone with AR tracking, processed through Beeble, and composited in Blender with virtual sets and lightingâcreating what appears to be a high-budget commercial.
Camera-tracked footage from smartphones can be processed through Beeble's pipeline
The generated VFX passes enable 3D lighting integration in professional software
This workflow creates virtual production capabilities without the hardware investment
Currently free in beta, the service will move to subscription-based pricing at approximately $59 for processing 5-10 minutes of footage
