Welcome to VP Land! Decart has introduced MirageLSD, an innovative AI model capable of instantly transforming any live video stream with low latency. This could be the first step toward real-time generative transformations of existing video feeds, from live content to in-camera visual effects.
In the last poll, everyone agreed that AI tools generating 60-second videos are more useful than producing the typical shorter ones. Check out today's poll on Netflix below.

Decart shows off real-time AI video

Decart launched MirageLSD, the first AI model that transforms any live video stream in real-time with under 40ms latency. The technology works with webcams, games, screen shares, or video calls, letting creators instantly change their visual environment or appearance through simple text prompts.
Introducing MirageLSD: The First Live-Stream Diffusion (LSD) AI Model
Input any video stream, from a camera or video chat to a computer screen or game, and transform it into any world you desire, in real-time (<40ms latency).
Here’s how it works (w/ demo you can use!):

MirageLSD processes video at 24 frames per second with breakthrough CUDA Megakernel optimization that delivers over 100x efficiency gains compared to traditional AI video generators.
The system responds to interactive gestures like waving hands to swap faces or using props as different objects, enabling streamers to transform brooms into lightsabers or appear as robots without expensive equipment.
Unlike previous AI video tools that require pre-rendering, MirageLSD generates infinite video lengths using drift-resistant training that maintains visual consistency across unlimited streaming sessions.
The technology runs on consumer hardware and is available now through Decart's web platform, with iOS and Android apps launching next week.

Netflix's Reveals First AI VFX Shot

Netflix's Ted Sarandos revealed that its Argentine sci-fi series El Eternauta features the first GenAI final footage to appear on screen in Netflix's history.
The AI-generated building collapse scene in El Eternauta was completed 10 times faster than traditional VFX methods while significantly reducing production costs.
The exact shot and details about the methodology and tools used are still unknown.
Netflix is integrating AI across multiple production stages, including pre-visualization for scene planning, shot-planning optimization, and visual effects creation. Sarandos emphasizes that this represents "real people doing real work with better tools."
The streaming giant is expanding GenAI beyond content creation into personalization features and search functionality, with plans to launch interactive AI-generated ads in the second half of 2025 to enhance viewer engagement and ad revenue.
We leveraged virtual production and AI powered VFX. There was a shot in the show that the creators wanted to show a building collapsing in Buenos Aires. So our iLIGHT team partnered with their creative team. Using AI powered tools they were able to achieve an amazing result with remarkable speed. And in fact, that VFX sequence was completed 10 times faster than it could have been completed completed with traditional VFX tools and workflows...the cost of it just wouldn't have been feasible for a show in that budget.

Turn Phone Video Into Movie VFX with WAN Vace

Just wrapped another experiment using WAN! 🌊
🎬 Filmed myself in my regular office setup with my decade-old phone (the lens quality is absolutely terrible), then used WAN Vace to completely flood the space with realistic water simulation.

The Butcher’s Brain recently shared on X an experiment where he filmed his office with an old phone, then used WAN Vace to simulate flooding the space with realistic water. The results show impressive detail, from natural water flow to accurate light refraction—even with low-quality footage.

Steve Giralt, founder of The Garage, explains how he integrates practical effects with virtual production.
