And more! Let’s dive in.
Stability AI (creator of Stable Diffusion) just rolled out a new tool: Stable Doodle.
Part of their Clipdrop app, Stable Doodle is a sketch-to-image tool, transforming a simple doodle into a generated image vibrant image based on some prompts and style direction. Here's what you need to know:
Stable Doodle, part of the Clipdrop by Stability AI suite, is an AI-powered tool designed to convert basic sketches into high-quality images, thanks to the Stable Diffusion model SDXL 0.9. The tool is free to use and doesn't require any AI expertise.
It’s not just a party trick. Stable Doodle can take sketched ideas and turn them into client designs, presentation materials, website content, or even logos.
The tech magic behind Stable Doodle comes from the synergy between Stability AI’s Stable Diffusion XL and the T2I-Adapter, a condition control solution developed by Tencent ARC. The T2I-Adapter adds trainable parameters to large diffusion models, allowing them to understand sketches and generate images based on them.
While Stable Doodle is easy to use—simply sketch, select an art style, and generate—the tool also offers a degree of customization with 14 distinct art styles. Styles range from realistic photography to cinematic and creative options like fantasy art and origami.
Expect to see more ways to provide inputs to generative AI. Skybox AI from Blockade Labs lets you sketch in a 3D room and turn it into a fully immersive 360-degree panoramic image.
You can try it out right now for free on the Clipdrop website or on the iOS or Android app.

Samsung has announced pricing and availability details for its ViewFinity S9 desktop monitor, a 27-inch 5K display, aimed squarely at competing with Apple's Studio Display. The monitor will retail for $1,599.99 and will be available in August.
The ViewFinity S9 and Apple’s Studio Display, also a 27-inch 5K monitor, share the same starting price. But, the ViewFinity has multiple connectivity options and includes a height-adjustable stand (a paid extra for the Studio Display), so it could be argued you get a bit more bang for your buck.
Samsung's ViewFinity S9 lacks local dimming, but it does cover 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making it suitable for photo editing.
The ViewFinity S9 has a variety of ports including Thunderbolt 4 (with up to 90 watts of passthrough charging), USB-C, and Mini DisplayPort. It also comes with standard TV streaming apps and extra features like its Gaming Hub.
Samsung’s new monitor uses the Smart Calibration feature controlled with smartphones. You can customize screen settings without complex calibration equipment using the SmartThings app. The process involves pointing the smartphone camera at the ViewFinity S9.
Expect side-by-side comparisons to come out in August.
In other Samsung news, they have started the development of LEDoS microdisplay technology for AR devices.
In this BTS TikTok from IMAX, it looks like the projector is being controlled by a Palm Pilot emulator running on an iPad.
The prevailing theory is the projector originally used a Palm Pilot and it’s cheaper/easier to use an emulator than create a new program.
