Lensrentals Acquires BorrowLenses

Online photo and video gear rental house Lensrentals is making a big used gear purchase: BorrowLenses.

The deal will boost Lensrentals inventory of over 400,000 items covering 6,000 different cameras, lenses, drones, audio, lighting gear and more. It will also increase inventory for Keeper, their used gear sales program.

BorrowLenses was acquired by Shutterfly in 2013. The press release notes that Lensrentals is acquiring the “BorrowLenses Brand and Select Assets,” but doesn’t expand further on what the select assets are (and are not).

It looks like the BorrowLenses website will roll into Lensrentals. The BL website is no longer accepting new rentals and is directing visitors to go to Lensrentals. A blog post outlines more details about current orders.
