PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: August 1, 2026

In plain English: VP Land collects the information needed to run accounts, deliver newsletters, manage subscriptions, review public submissions, respond to messages, and understand how the site is used. Some features rely on third-party services governed by their own policies, linked below.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

VP Land is a publication operated by New Territory Media ("VP Land," "we," "us," or "our") in California. This policy explains how we handle personal information through vp-land.com, VP Land accounts, newsletter signups, public submission forms, and related services that link to this policy.

Newsletter and paid-subscription features use Beehiiv and Stripe. When you use those features, those providers may also process information under their own policies.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Newsletter information: your email address, signup source, campaign and referral information, subscription status, newsletter preferences, and related membership information.
  • Account information: your email address and authentication, session, and account-recovery information needed to create and secure a VP Land account.
  • Submissions: information you send through tool, event, and job forms, which may include a name, email address, company, website, event or job details, and any other content you choose to provide.
  • Communications: your name, email address, selected topic, and the contents of messages you send us.
  • Paid-subscription information: contact, plan, transaction, billing, and subscription-status information associated with a paid VP Land subscription. Stripe processes payment-card information; VP Land does not receive full payment-card details.

Information collected automatically

  • Site and technical information: page paths, article views, referring pages, timestamps, browser or device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and server or security logs.
  • Newsletter activity: Beehiiv may provide delivery, open, click, subscription, and unsubscribe information so we can operate and improve the newsletter.
  • Browser storage: cookies, local storage, and session storage may support account sessions, preferences, security, site functionality, and basic measurement.
  • Embedded and linked services: third-party media and content providers may receive standard connection and device information when you load or interact with them.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot VP Land and its account features;
  • deliver the newsletter and transactional messages and honor unsubscribe requests;
  • manage free and paid subscriptions, access, billing status, and customer support;
  • review, verify, edit, and respond to tool, event, and job submissions;
  • measure readership, attribution, and site performance and improve our content;
  • detect spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect our readers, publication, and rights.

4. Newsletter and payment services

We use Beehiiv in connection with newsletter and subscription services. Review the Beehiiv Privacy Policy and Beehiiv Terms of Use.

Paid-subscription payments are processed through Stripe. Review the Stripe Privacy Policy. You can manage a VP Land subscription through the subscription management page.

5. Other service providers

Other service providers we use include:

  • Supabase
  • Vercel
  • Resend
  • Airtable

These providers may process information in the United States and other countries under their contracts with us and their applicable privacy terms.

6. How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information:

  • to the service providers described above so they can perform services for us;
  • when you ask us to, consent, or use a feature that requires the disclosure;
  • to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request;
  • to investigate fraud, abuse, security issues, or threats to safety or rights; and
  • in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of New Territory Media, subject to appropriate protections.

New Territory Media does not rent or sell its subscriber list for money. We do not publish email addresses provided through account, newsletter, or submission forms. Some privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" more broadly; you may contact us to exercise any applicable opt-out right.

7. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including while an account or subscription is active, and afterward as needed for security, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. We may retain limited records where needed to honor preferences, opt-outs, or legal obligations. Other information may remain in backups for a limited period before deletion or de-identification.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

  • Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Transactional account or billing messages may still be sent when necessary.
  • Subscriptions: update or cancel a paid subscription from the subscription management page.
  • Browser controls: clear or block cookies, local storage, or session storage through your browser. Some account or preference features may stop working.
  • Privacy requests: depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing.

Submit requests through our contact form. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. If a provider processes information independently for its own purposes, you may also need to use that provider's privacy-request process.

9. California disclosures and browser signals

California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy laws, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain information about certain disclosures, and to exercise applicable opt-out rights without discriminatory treatment. These rights depend on the law's applicability and are subject to its exceptions.

VP Land does not currently respond differently to legacy browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. Third-party services may have their own practices for browser signals, as described in their policies and controls.

10. Children's privacy

VP Land is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

11. Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. Our providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States, subject to applicable safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as VP Land, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If a change is material, we may also provide notice through the site or by email when appropriate.

13. Contact us
