About Back-to-One
2D top-down blocking for scene work: place actors, cameras, lights and walls on a floor plan. Field of view is computed from real sensor dimensions and focal lengths across six formats (S35, full frame, S16, MFT, ARRI LF, anamorphic). Automatic camera aiming, 180-degree axis check that flags a line crossing during prep, animated playback of blocking and movement, viewfinder preview per camera. The shot list is generated from the same data and is bidirectionally linked to the canvas — move a camera and the list updates, edit the list and the canvas follows. The list groups by camera setup rather than scene order, carries a time estimate per shot with totals per setup and per shooting day, and is checked off live during the shoot. Full-screen, dim and red-light display modes for a blacked-out stage. Screenplay import from FDX and PDF creates scenes with sluglines and characters. Exports: per-setup set PDFs, call sheets by shooting day, lighting plots with wattage, dimmer, gel, diffusion, height and colour temperature, shot lists as PDF, Excel or CSV, and the canvas as an image. Sun position for a given exterior shoot date, with shadow direction and golden hour. Searchable props library with custom PNG import and reusable scene templates. iPad and Mac. Sync and project sharing run through the user's own iCloud with scene-level merge; there is no vendor server, no account and no tracking. Interface and exported documents in German and English. Built by a working television director in Germany (Pastewka, Sketch History, Ladykracher). Released 4 August 2026. Free 7-day full trial, then EUR 8.99/month, EUR 89.99/year, or EUR 199.99 one-time.
