Bit Part unveils more affordable wireless camera control with new Mini device priced at $479, expanding their on-set control ecosystem for DITs, camera assistants, and even lighting departments with up to 12 remotes per base station.
The Mini is substantially smaller than the original Bit Part controller but trades some expandability for a lower price point. While it forgoes the original's built-in network switch and direct USB connectivity, it still delivers the core wireless control functionality at a more accessible price point. The Mini requires at least one original Bit Part unit to function as a base station, with each base supporting up to 12 remote units.

The company also showcased a new iPad mounting plate that integrates with their controllers. This practical addition allows DITs and camera assistants to carry control capabilities with them around set, eliminating the need to run back to the cart for quick adjustments. The battery-equipped plate provides power to the Bit Part unit while enabling more mobile workflow options.
New mounting plate provides additional flexibility for different on-set scenarios
Original Bit Part controller offers more expansion options including LBUs and additional Ethernet ports
New expansion module adds WiFi/Bluetooth capability for controlling cameras without physical connectors
The system's certification process demonstrates a commitment to professional reliability. The North American models use 915 MHz frequency and are fully FCC certified, with CE-certified European models in development. This emphasis on proper certification ensures the devices won't interfere with other critical wireless systems on professional sets.
As productions increasingly integrate wireless control into various departments beyond camera, Bit Part is positioning its growing ecosystem as a versatile solution that maintains professional standards while becoming more accessible to a wider range of production professionals.
