When we sent the last VP Land, Sam Altman was CEO of OpenAI. As of this morning, Sam Altman is still the CEO of OpenAI.
Absolutely nothing happened in between VP Lands.
Happy early Thanksgiving to everyone in the US. Always a great time to revisit the greatest Thanksgiving scene in cinema history.
Alright, let’s jump into VP Land!

STUDIO A
The 5 C’s of GPT

Speaking of OpenAI - one of the big announcements from their developer conference was the ability to make your own GPTs (we covered the GPTverse here).
GPTs have been out in the wild for a few weeks and now we’re seeing some useful ones for VP and filmmaking.
Here are a few that have popped onto our radar:
Unreal Assistant: GPT to help with coding and working in Unreal. You can also upload images to get feedback. Developer Joshua Johnson: “It already has vision capabilities so you can drop in a blueprint screenshots and get explanations / pseudo-code based on it.”
AI Filmmaking Assistant: Ignore the name - useful for creating Midjourney prompts with consistent looks for making mood boards (it can also use DALLE-3 to generated images in the GPT)
Cinematography: Combo of technical insights, such as equipment guidance and composition and color theory, and game night fun, like cinematographer trivia and quotes from interviews.
Dane Blacic created a Virtual Production GPT, but took it down due to copyright concerns of the source material. However, the source material is in the post and you could easily build your own GPT for personal use.
There isn’t a GPT directory/store yet, so these are just ones that popped up on X or LinkedIn.
If you’ve found any GPTs that are helping your workflow, please share.
