VEGAS, the often forgotten powerful video editor, releases VEGAS Pro 21
VEGAS Pro (the NLE FKA Sony Vegas) just released version 21.
Here’s what’s new:
Mocha planar tracking tool from Boris FX is directly integrated into the app. Track people and objects easily right inside VEGAS.
Z-Depth tool: Use AI to isolate objects, define foreground and background, and insert additional layers, like text behind a person. As Chaz says, “That’s where it all happens…z-space.”
Smart masking: Identify and track moving objects using AI and get a bezier mask generated, which can be plugged into your FX pipeline.
Who’s VEGAS targeted at?
My take - marketing and in-house teams that want an all-in-one solution for editing, motion graphics, sound mixing, and color grading.
VEGAS’ price point is about half that of Adobe Creative Cloud and can do a lot out of the box without paid plugins.
It’s also for a team that doesn’t need to worry about sharing project files or collaborating with outside entities.
The catch: VEGAS is PC only.
