Atomos released firmware 12.2.0 for the Ninja TX GO and Ninja TX, adding camera control via USB-C to both monitor-recorders. Instead of fiddling with tiny on-camera buttons and menus, you can now adjust ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and start/stop recording directly from the 5-inch touchscreen.
Key Details:
Six camera brands supported - Works with Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony, and Z CAM cameras via USB-C connection.
Building on previous monitors - Atomos CEO Peter Barber says the camera control functionality first introduced on the Shinobi II and Shinobi 7 RX monitors has been improved on the Ninja TX series, with faster performance enabled by the onboard computer processing and Linux operating system.
Free over-the-air update - Firmware 12.2.0 is available now at no charge for existing Ninja TX GO and Ninja TX owners.
Full monitor-recorder package - Both devices record to CFexpress Type B or USB-C SSD storage in ProRes, ProRes RAW, Avid DNx, and H.265/H.264 formats, with built-in Wi-Fi for camera-to-cloud workflows and 20GB of free cloud storage.
