Beeble Launches SwitchX 2.0 with Native 4K, 10-Bit Output and 20-Second Shots

Beeble launched SwitchX 2.0, an update to its video-to-video model that generates at native 4K in 10-bit color and handles shots up to 20 seconds. That pushes the tool past its 1080p output to finishing-length sequences where VFX artists can relight scenes, replace backgrounds, and swap props while keeping the source performance and camera move.

  • Native 4K, up from 1080p. Beeble says SwitchX 2.0 generates output at up to 4K, up from the original model's 1080p.
  • Shots stretch to 20 seconds. Clips now run up to 480 frames at 24 fps.

Higher resolution and deeper color decide what SwitchX can finish

The original SwitchX topped out at 1080p and 8-bit output, which limited how far its results could go before a colorist ran out of latitude. SwitchX 2.0 raises that ceiling to 4K and 10-bit, per Beeble. The distinction matters for a finishing pipeline: 4K and 10-bit describe the resolution and color depth of SwitchX 2.0's generated output, distinct from camera-original sensor data.

We tested the first SwitchX live, where its ceiling was clear; the 2.0 numbers are the direct answer to that limitation.

The Up-res workflow keeps iteration cheap and finals sharp

Beeble's new Up-res workflow lets artists iterate at 720p, then return to the original source footage for a final generation at up to 4K, preserving the detail available in that source. That flow keeps the slow, expensive high-resolution pass for the last step rather than every revision.

Because the final pass draws on the original footage, the result reflects source detail rather than resolution invented after the fact. That separates it from a straight upscale and from purely generative detail.

Preserving the performance while swapping the scene

SwitchX keeps its original premise: change lighting, backgrounds, props, and other elements while preserving the source subject, performance, and camera movement. Beeble says SwitchX 2.0 extends that to longer and higher-quality sequences.

SwitchX 2.0 is available on the Beeble platform, which also hosts the company's first video-to-video model.
